Brenda SARDÓN (ARG)
Paralympian Artist – Mixed media: Paris 2024
Brenda is a paralympic athlete from Argentina. She has been competing on elite level since 2013 and has participated in the Tokyo and Paris games.
Brenda Sardon led workshops at two social centers in Paris that accommodate adults with physical or mental impairments. Her workshops were designed to promote inclusiveness and diversity through an exploration of the Paralympic values, and to raise awareness.
During the workshops, participants worked on the creation of their own Paralympic flag. The project encouraged participants to express their creativity and individuality but also to explore their commonalities and to discover the importance of flags as symbols of countries and movements.

Questions and answers
What parallels do you see between the practice of sport and art - or creativity more broadly?
The parallels I see between art, in all its forms, and sport lies in their ability to let me express raw emotions, learn to truly feel them and transform those feelings into creative action, both on paper and in the water.
How are both of these endeavors important to you?
These endeavours are incredibly important to me cause they create a sense of belonging and help me cultivate my mental, emotional and physical well being, allowing me to feel grounded and grateful.
To you personally, what does being a Paralympian mean – how does it define your approach to life and how you view yourself and the world?
My journey as a Paralympian goes beyond sports, it embodies empowerment for myself and others, as well as educating society about disability through sport. This commitment to purpose, empowerment and education fuels my passion and inspires me to share the message: embrace diversity.
