What is the recommended visit time?

We recommend allowing 2 hours for the exhibitions and additional time to enjoy the park, restaurant and Olympic Museum Shop. Last admission at the museum is 5 p.m.

Do I have to book my visit in advance?

You don't need to book your visit to the Olympic Museum in advance. You can either buy your ticket online or when you get here.  However, group and guided visits must be booked in advance.

Is there parking nearby?

There are plenty of parking spaces around the Olympic Museum including the Indigo Lausanne Port d'Ouchy Parking, the Beau-Rivage Palace car park as well as paid parking spaces along the Quai d'Ouchy and on Avenue de l’Élysée. Please follow the signs and road markings in place. Two parking spaces for people with reduced mobility are available at the north entrance of the Olympic Museum (Avenue de l’Élysée).

Is there access for people with reduced mobility / wheelchair users?

All areas of the Olympic Museum are accessible to wheelchair users. 

We advise you to enter the museum via the north entrance, avenue de l'Élysée, and follow the signs to the entrance of the building. There are also two disabled parking spaces here. 

Inside the building, the toilets on levels 0 and +2 are accessible for wheelchair users. Tables in the restaurant are also adapted for wheelchair users.

Are wheelchairs available? 

Yes, visitors can borrow wheelchairs if required (subject to availability). If you need a wheelchair, please ask at the reception desk when you arrive.

Is the visitor trail accessible for prams and buggies?

 Yes, the itinerary has been designed to be pram friendly. There is also a lift for easy access to the various floors of the Olympic Museum. Feel free to ask for a map from reception to help you find your way around the museum.

Can I bring my bike scooter skateboard or rollerblades?
Bikes, scooters, skateboards and rollerblades must be left outside the Olympic Museum. There are parking spaces for motorbikes and mopeds at the north and south entrances of the Olympic Park.
Is there luggage storage or a cloakroom?

A cloakroom with luggage storage (payment of CHF 1 or 1 EUR required) is available for visitors on the first floor in the entrance hall.

Can I bring my dog to the Olympic Museum?

Dogs are not allowed in the Olympic Museum, with the exception of service dogs for visitors with a visual impairment. Dogs are welcome in the restaurant and on the terrace.

Can I withdraw cash at the museum?

There is a UBS ATM on the ground floor of the Olympic Museum in the entrance hall.

Can I bring a picnic to eat onsite?
Visitors can enjoy their own food and drinks in the 1st floor outdoor seating area and in the Olympic Park, but not inside the Olympic Museum. From May to October, a snack bar is open to visitors in the Olympic Park.
Does the Olympic Museum offer free Wi-Fi access?

Yes, a Swisscom public Wi-Fi network can be accessed free of charge. Please note, however, that connecting to this network involves sending/receiving an SMS. 

Are cameras allowed?
Photos and videos are allowed in all areas open to the public. Drones are not permitted. Photographs are for private use only. If you would like to take photographs for commercial purposes, please contact the press office.
Can I smoke inside the museum?

As is the case for all public spaces in the Canton of Vaud, the Olympic Museum and its restaurant are strictly non-smoking areas.
